My skincare notes are from a recent discussion on a new product Isa Knox Anew SOLAIRE. It starts with just knowing a few words to describe skin care and the sun.

SPF

Sun Protection Factor is SPF. It is a measure of how much solar energy (UV radiation) is required to produce sunburn. That’s sunburn on protected skin vs unprotected skin. The intensity of solar energy impacts the amount. Here are a few ideas.

  • one hour at 9:00 a.m.
  • 15 minutes at 1:00 p.m.
  • Geographic location >intense at lower latitudes
  • Clouds absorb solar energy, so > intense on clear days than on cloudy days
  • Skin type
  • Amount of sunscreen applied
  • Reapplication frequency

Ultra Violet A (UVA) light has a long wavelength that penetrates deep layers of skin. Sunlight has 500 times more UVA rays in sunlight than UVB rays. It can lead to premature aging or wrinkles form. Solar radiation damages skin at all levels. Starts from the surface layer (epidermis] and down deep into the dermis.

Ultra Violet B (UVB) is skin-burning. The sun rays are shorter attacks on healthy skin cells. It burns the top layer and produces sunburn. The UVB rays play the greatest role in causing skin cancers. That includes the deadly black mole form of skin cancer or (malignant melanoma).

Broad Spectrum Sunscreen protects you from the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays. The sunscreen covers the complete UV spectrum. It protects the skin’s surface and deeper skin tissues against UV rays from the sun.

Advanced Sun Care

There are sunny days ahead! You can have a glow and stay protected. My skincare notes include hydration to keep skin soft and smooth. The Isa Knox Anew SOLAIRE has the highest SPF for protection against harmful rays.

Active Face & Body Protection Lotion

Just a note that chemical sunscreens absorb into the skin. They contain organic compounds that cause a chemical reaction when exposed to the sun. UV rays change to heat and are released from the skin.

Last year was all about the three best skincare routines including Anew Spectrum Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50.
